COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Blue Raider flag football team defeated Emmanuel (Ga.) 13-12 in Franklin Springs, Georgia, Wednesday evening. 

Amaya Pablo led the team in passing completing 19-of-34 attempts for 173 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Gabby Kruse and Jenna Lindsey tallied a touchdown apiece. Defensively, Emily Good led the attack with six tackles and one tackle for loss. 

Lindsey Wilson had its best opportunity to score in the first quarter on a nine-play drive with the ball at first and goal, ending in an interception thrown by Pablo. Both teams remained dead-locked at 0-0 headed into the second quarter. 

LWU struck first in the second quarter, completing a 10-play drive that ended in a touchdown from Pablo to Lindsey from two-yards out to lead 7-0 with two minutes left in the half. The Blue Raiders took a 7-0 edge headed into halftime. 

The Blue Raiders extended the lead to 13-0 on their first drive of the second half after Pablo found Wermers in the endzone for a 13-yard touchdown at the 3:34 mark. Emmanuel answered back with a touchdown drive of its own with Lillian Stephenson finding Gwen Carter for a 39-yard reception to cut the Blue Raider lead to 13-6 headed into the final quarter of action. 

With 0:23 on the clock, the Lions found the endzone to cut the game to one point at 13-12. Emmanuel attempted the extra point to tie the game, but was stopped by the Blue Raider defense. Lindsey Wilson regained possession, defeating the Lions 13-12. 

Flag football will be back in action on April 23-24 in the Group of Six Tournament.
