HENDERSON, Tenn. -The No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team captured its 19th Mid-South Conference regular season championship on Monday with a 7-0 victory over Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.).
With the victory, the Blue Raiders have won their last 10 matches and are 12-2 overall, going a perfect 6-0 in MSC play.
Raul Safont and
Aldo Randazzo defeated Carlos Garcia and Martin Brena 6-2 at No. 3 doubles.
Lev Sholosh and
Lucas Marques earned the doubles point for Lindsey Wilson with a 6-2 win in the top-seeded doubles match against Benjamin Ganem and Daniel Bolivar.
Miguel Mateo Larrea and
Facundo Grasso won 7-5 at No. 2 doubles.
Sholosh gave the Blue Raiders a 2-0 lead with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Ganem at No. 1 singles. Grasso pushed the Lindsey Wilson lead to 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Dev Prakash at No 2 singles. Larrea clinched the match for the Blue Raiders with a 6-4, 6-2 win against Tom Marie in at No. 3.
Randazzo won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6 singles, Marques and Safont won at No. 5 and No. 4 singles, respectively.
The Blue Raiders close out the regular season on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT against No. 13 Missouri Baptist at The Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
