COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson volleyball team returns to Columbia on Tuesday, August 18, for its 2026 home opener when the Blue Raiders welcome Indiana Southeast to Biggers Sports Center for a non-conference matchup.

Lindsey Wilson opened the season this past weekend at the Tiger Kickoff Invitational in Bourbonnais, Illinois, splitting its opening-day matches before dropping a pair of contests on Saturday. The Blue Raiders enter Tuesday's home opener with a 1-3 overall record.

Despite the four-match slate, several Blue Raiders made strong contributions throughout the weekend. Gabi Zuquelo led Lindsey Wilson with 22 kills in the team's four-set victory over Rochester Christian (Mich.), while Luisina Sandrone Tais recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs in the same match.

Sandrone Tais continued to provide a consistent offensive presence throughout the weekend, totaling 45 kills across the four matches. Brooke Robinson also delivered a strong performance against Carroll (Mont.), recording a team-high 13 kills in the Blue Raiders' five-set battle with the Fighting Saints.

Defensively, Momo Hampton anchored the Blue Raiders with 89 digs across the four matches, including consecutive 20-plus-dig performances against Rochester Christian and Carroll. Addison Janes and Rachel Kilchenmann split setting duties throughout the weekend, combining for 66 assists against the Warriors and Fighting Saints.

Tuesday marks Indiana Southeast's first match of the 2026 season. The Grenadiers open their campaign on the road against the Blue Raiders after finishing the 2025 season with a 19-8 record. Lindsey Wilson has won the last 18 meetings between the two teams, with the most recent matchup coming on August 21, 2021. Tuesday's contest marks the first meeting in Columbia since August 18, 2017.

The matchup also gives Lindsey Wilson its first opportunity to play in front of its home crowd after opening the season away from Columbia.
