COLUMBIA, KY – The Lindsey Wilson volleyball team returns to action Friday, August 28, competing in the Vette City Classic in Bowling Green, Ky. The Blue Raiders open the two-day tournament with a pair of matches Friday, facing Lawrence Tech (Mich.) at 11 a.m. CT before taking on LSU Shreveport (La.) at 4 p.m. CT.
Lindsey Wilson enters the weekend with a 4-3 overall record after earning a 3-0 victory over Pikeville (Ky.) at Biggers Sports Center on Tuesday. The Blue Raiders have won their last three matches and look to carry that momentum into the weekend as they continue to build consistency early in the 2026 season.
Lawrence Tech enters Friday's opening matchup with a 3-1 record. Maria Trevino Nunez leads the Blue Devils offensively with 59 kills, while Kyndal James follows with 25 kills. Lindsey Wilson will look to limit Lawrence Tech's offensive attack while continuing to generate production from its own offensive unit.
LSU Shreveport enters the tournament with a 1-2 record and is currently on a two-match losing streak. Caitlin Clampitt leads the Pilots with 29 kills, followed by senior Logan Hamilton with 25 kills. The Blue Raiders will face LSU Shreveport in Friday's second match as both teams look to gain momentum heading into the second day of tournament play.
Lindsey Wilson has received balanced production throughout its first seven matches of the season, including strong contributions from Luisina Sandrone Tais and
Sofija Pjevic. SandroneTais is hitting .233 in the Blue Raiders' winning streak with 20 kills and six service aces, while Pjevic hit .462 with seven kills on 13 attempts in her first match back from injury on August 20that Union Commonwealth (Ky.) The Blue Raiders look to continue their balanced offensive effort against two first-time opponents.
Parker Sutherland has also provided a strong presence at the net with 23 blocks on the season, while
Momo Hampton leads the Mid-South Conference with 130 digs.
Following Friday's matches, Lindsey Wilson will return to the court Saturday, August 29, for two additional matches at the Vette City Classic. The Blue Raiders face Keiser (Fla.) at 9 a.m. CT before closing tournament play against Indiana East at 4:30 p.m. CT. The Seahawks entering the tournament at 2-2. Cece Worsham leads Keiser with 48 kills, while Mallory Dills has recorded 87 assists and Amie Molina has added 64 assists. Lindsey Wilson will close tournament play against Indiana East at 4:30 p.m. CT. The Red Wolves enter the weekend with a 2-4 record, led by Payton Schulteis with 60 kills and Abby Herman with 93 digs.
