COLUMBIA, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson men's soccer goalkeeper Zahir Garcia has been selected as the Mid-South Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. 

Garcia, of Nuevo León, Mexico, had nine saves on 10 shots in the Blue Raiders 2-1 victory over Life (Ga.) on August 28. The junior recorded a clean sheet in the second half, tallying four saves, including a penalty kick in the final seconds of the match. 

This marks Garcia's first career weekly honor and Lindsey Wilson's first weekly honor of the 2026 season. 

Garcia and the Blue Raiders return to action at 5 p.m. CT on Monday, August 31, to face Indiana Tech on Ray Wells Field, inside Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
