COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson women's soccer staged a late rally against Cumberland (Tenn.) University on Monday night but it was not enough as the Blue Raiders lost 3-2 at Lindsey Wilson Park.

Cumberland (8-3-2) scored three unanswered goals en route to a 3-0 lead with just over 20 minutes of play left.
Sophomore Stephanie Robell scored the game's first goal for the Bulldogs at the 34:26 mark off a free kick to give Cumberland the 1-0 halftime lead.

Cumberland struck quickly in the second half to extend their lead to 2-0 with an unassisted goal by freshman Maylee Attin-Johnson at 49:28. Sophomore Nanna Jacobsen pushed the lead to 3-0 with an unassisted goal from ten yards out at 69:06.

Lindsey Wilson (10-3-1) countered quickly with a goal by junior Rowena Alsanea at 70:02. Alsanea's sixth goal of the season was assisted by junior Dorte Rauff.

The No. 4-ranked Blue Raiders would add another goal at 85:46 from junior Hishamar Falconer's seventh goal of the year off a penalty kick to make it a 3-2 score.

Lindsey Wilson's comeback attempt was not enough as Cumberland freshman goalkeeper Leanna Rice turned away the final Blue Raider shots. Rice had two saves while collecting the victory despite Lindsey Wilson out-shooting Cumberland 13-7.

Blue Raider freshman goalkeeper Mia Moeller made three saves in the game.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 5 p.m. CT on Tuesday, October 18 in the first game of a doubleheader against Mid-South Conference foe Pikeville College at Lindsey Wilson Park. The Blue Raider men will follow the women at approximately 7 p.m. CT.
