COLUMBIA, Ky.-- The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team lost 2-0 to Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College in a battle of NAIA top-five teams on Saturday night at Lindsey Wilson Park.
No. 4-ranked Martin Methodist scored two goals in the final six minutes of play en route to the victory. Redhawk sophomore midfielder Clare Sykes knocked in the game-winning goal at the 84:13 mark on a ball that hit the post and was ruled a goal.
Martin Methodist sophomore forward Amanda Johansson added an insurance goal just one minute and 24 seconds later to complete the 2-0 win.
No. 3-ranked Lindsey Wilson (8-2-1) was shutout ro the first time this season. The Blue Raiders out-shot the Redhawks 13-9 but Martin Methodist sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Prendergast made five saves for the shutout victory.

Lindsey Wilson College returns to action at 5 p.m. CT on Monday, October 10, in the first game of a Mid-South Conference doubleheader against Lambuth University at Lindsey Wilson Park. The top-ranked Lindsey Wilson men will host Lambuth at approximately 7 p.m. CT in the second game of the doubleheader.
