Women's Soccer Loses in Heartbreaking Fashion to Azusa Pacific

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer allowed two goals in the final four minutes to fall 2-1 to Azusa Pacific (Calif.) University at the Lady Flame Classic at Lee (Tenn.) University in Cleveland, Tennessee.

The No. 4-ranked Blue Raiders (8-2-0) led 1-0 after senior Rowena Alsanea headed in her second goal of the season in the 32nd minute off senior Jill Lirbank-Almbaek's corner kick.
Lindsey Wilson was four minutes away from the upset when Azusa's Bridget Brotherton equaled Alsanea's header with one of her own to tie the game.

Brotherton's goal, her team-leading fifth of the season, came off Karen Lawrence's corner kick in the 87th minute to tie the game at 1-1.

No. 2-ranked Azusa, who defeated host Lee 3-2 in double overtime on Friday night, scored 93 second later to avoid overtime for the second straight night.

Theresa Broad snuck behind Lindsey Wilson goalkeeper Lisbeth Skjodt to score the game winner in the 88th minute to give the Cougars (6-0-0) the 2-1 win.
