Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College freshman midfielder Satsuki Kato scored a pair of goals to help the No. 3-ranked Blue Raiders to a 4-1 win over visiting Georgetown (Ky.) College on Monday night at Lindsey Wilson Park.
Kato scored in the 63rd and 78th minutes to help the Blue Raiders improve to 8-1-2 overall and remain atop the Mid-South Conference with a 3-0 record. Georgetown falls to 7-4 overall and 2-1 in the MSC with the loss.
Lindsey Wilson freshman forward Matilda Myers scored the only goal of the first half at the 36:47 mark from inside the penalty area off an assist from sophomore Omolyn Davis.
Davis toed the ball across the box beyond the outstretch hands of Georgetown senior goalkeeper Amy Chamberlain onto the boot of Myers. Myers punched the ball into the open net for her fourth goal of the season.
Kato gave the Blue Raiders a 2-0 lead at the 62:55 mark off freshman Katy Gilmour's fourth assist of the season. Gilmour served the ball from the right end-line in front of the goal and Kato beat Chamberlain in the lower left corner.
Georgetown cut the Lindsey Wilson lead in half at the 65:42 mark on a goal by senior forward Brittany Hunt.
Blue Raider sophomore goalkeeper Carrie Revlett misplayed a ball to Hunt just outside the penalty area and Hunt placed the ball into the vacated net for the Lady Tigers first and only goal of the game.
Kato gave a Blue Raiders some breathing room at the 77:55 mark with her second goal of the night and her team-leading ninth of the season. Fellow freshman Kimmia Parker served the ball in front of the net and Kato headed in the goal for a 3-1 lead.
Parker finished the scoring with an unassisted goal at the 79:18 mark. Parker dribbled through traffic and beat Chamberlain for her fifth goal of the season and a 4-1 win.
The Blue Raiders out-shot Georgetown 15-3 in the match and 10-2 in shots on-goal.
Revlett ended the game with one goal allowed and one save. Chamberlain allowed four goals and recorded six saves.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Monday, October 8, as the Blue Raiders travel to Mid-South foe University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg.
