Box Score DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team advances into the NAIA National Tournament quarterfinals with a 2-0 win over Southern Nazarene (Okla.) University today at the Embry-Riddle University Soccer Stadium.
The No. 2-seed Blue Raiders (16-2-3) dominated play on the offensive end, out-shooting the Crimson Storm 16-3, including 8-0 in shots on-goal for the match.
Lindsey Wilson sophomore Omolyn Davis scored off a rebound to give the Blue Raiders the 1-0 lead in the 12th minute.
Davis dribbled through a pair of Southern Nazarene (13-7-2) defenders into the penalty area only to have her first shot stopped by a Crimson Storm defender. Davis regained possession and netted her 14th goal of the season to give Lindsey Wilson the lead.
The first half ended with Lindsey Wilson on top 1-0.
In the second half, Lindsey Wilson continued to apply the offensive pressure.
Freshman Kimmia Parker doubled the Lindsey Wilson score in the 54th minute.
Parker maneuvered into the penalty area through the Southern Nazarene defense and beat Crimson Storm goalkeeper Erica Brown for her 14th goal of the season.
Lindsey Wilson sophomore Yolanda Hamilton just missed the third goal of the day inside the final two minutes when her shot caromed off the post.
The Blue Raiders advance to the Saturday's national quarterfinals where the meet the winner of Friday's match between No. 7-seed Carroll (Mont.) College and No. 10-seed Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) University. Kickoff for the quarterfinal match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT.
