Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College junior Lisa Mann scored the game's only to lead the RedHawks to a 1-0 win over the Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team on Tuesday at Lindsey Wilson Park.
With the win, Martin Methodist receives the automatic bid into the NAIA National Tournament in Daytona Beach, Fla., beginning Nov. 14. Lindsey Wilson should receive of the at-large bids into the national tournament. Pairings will be announced on Friday, Nov. 9.
After a scoreless first half where each team recorded four shots, Martin Methodist took control of the offensive play early in the second frame.
Martin Methodist -- who out-shot the Blue Raiders 14-6 on the night -- scored in the 55th when sophomore Shannon Walter sent a cross to the top of the penalty area onto Mann's boot.
Mann sent a blast over top Lindsey Wilson sophomore goalkeeper Carrie Revlett for the goal to give the RedHawks the 1-0 lead.
Lindsey Wilson's best chance for the equalizer came in the 86th minute. Senior midfielder Sashsheena Stewart served the ball from the right flank deep into the box. Freshman reserve Katy Gilmour ran onto the serve but sent the shot high.
Martin Methodist senior goalkeeper Sarah Prendergast earned the shutout while collecting one save. Revlett suffered the loss, allowing one goal and collecting nine saves.
With the win, Martin Methodist improves to 16-4-0 on the season, while Lindsey Wilson falls to 15-2-3.
