Box Score WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team moved into sole possession of first place in the Mid-South Conference with a 58-56 win over the University of the Cumberlands.
The Blue Raiders (11-15, 5-1 in the MSC) complete the season-sweep of the No. 8-ranked Patriots, who fall to 21-4 and 4-2 in conference play.

John B. Wethington said. "We did outstanding job on the defensive end and just enough on the offensive end to pull out the win."
The Blue Raiders limited Cumberlands to just 31.6 percent (18-of-57) shooting from the field -- the Patriots entered the game hitting 43.5 percent on the season.
Cumberlands also struggled from the perimeter, making just three of 15 shots (20 percent).
"We challenged almost every shot today," Wethington said. "It was a great team defensive effort."
While Lindsey Wilson held the Patriots nearly 17 points below their season average on the defensive end, the Blue Raiders managed just 39.3 percent (24-of-61) on the offensive end.
The two teams shooting produced a tightly fought battle where neither team lead by more than six points during the game. There were 16 ties and 16 lead changes in the game.
After Lindsey Wilson built its largest lead of the game (37-33) at the 10:17 mark, Cumberlands used a 14-4 run over the next four minutes to grab a 47-41 lead with 6:02 left.
The Blue Raiders countered with six straight points to tie the game at 47-47 at the 3:42 mark.
The two teams swapped baskets over the next two minutes before the Blue Raiders scored four straight to take a 55-53 lead with 38 seconds left.
Cumberlands junior Kirsten Roberson tied the game and then gave her team the lead at 56-55 with an old-fashion three-point play with 28 seconds remaining.

Kera Gibson hit the game-winner 15 seconds later in front of the Blue Raider bench as she buried her third three-pointer of the game to give the Blue Raiders a 58-56 lead.
Cumberlands had three chances to tie the game, but failed.
The Blue Raiders earned the season sweep -- they won 70-64 at home earlier this season -- and moved one game ahead of Cumberlands in the MSC standings with the 58-56 win.
Cumberlands stayed close throughout the game thanks to a perfect 17-of-17 from the free throw line. The Blue Raiders made just five of 10, but out-rebounded the Patriots 36-34.

Terran Duncan led the Blue Raiders with 19 points, while junior and reining Mid-South Conference player of the week
Krystal Jackson finished with 13 points, a team-high seven rebounds and five assists. Gibson added nine points.
Cumberlands' Jennifer Nagy finished with 18 points on 9-of-21 shooting from the field, while Kristen Roberson added 13 points.
