Box Score FRANKFORT, Ky. -- The roller coaster ride ended today.
The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball season -- which began 3-13, only to turn it around and win the MSC regular-season title -- ended today with a 79-76 loss to third-seeded West Virginia University Tech in the Mid-South Conference finals at the Frankfort Civic Center.
Lindsey Wilson falls just shy of the NAIA National Tournament with a 16-16 record. The final at-large bid will be handed to the team (The Master's of California) one spot in front of the Blue Raiders in the final rankings.
Lindsey Wilson trailed by as many as nine points (42-33) in the first half before closing the half 12-4 to trail 46-45 at the break.

The two teams exchanged baskets over the next seven minutes with neither team able to build more than a three-point lead.
Shantelle Matthews' basket at the 2:50 mark gave the Lady Golden Bears (24-8) a 75-72 lead. Matthews finished with 20 points.

Terran Duncan scored the game's next four points to give the Blue Raiders a 76-75 lead with 1:54 remaining.

Tech's Marche' Westray missed a three-pointer with 18 seconds left, which gave Lindsey Wilson a final chance to win its first MSC Tournament title.
The Blue Raiders used their final possession of the season to go inside to Duncan.
After catching the ball on the left low post, Duncan turned for the game-winner. After apparently being bumped by Tech's Moore, Duncan missed the four-foot shot.
Matthews made two free throws with 1.5 seconds left and Lindsey Wilson junior
Krystal Jackson's half-court shot fell short.

Jackson finished with 11 points and junior Keisha Anderson added 10.
Lindsey Wilson seniors
Tiffany Reid and
Shola Aladejebi -- playing in their final collegiate game -- added eight points each in the loss.
