Tiyselani Shipalane scored in the final minute of overtime to help the Blue Raiders to a 3-2 win over Park (Mo.) University on Sunday in the University of Illinois Springfield Classic.
Shipalane scored an unassisted goal at the 99:08 mark to break a 2-2 tie and give the Blue Raiders their third win of the season
Park junior forward Desmand Yankey put the Pirates (2-1-0) on top with the game's first goal at the 21:53 mark.
Lindsey Wilson senior midfielder Ryan Stewart tied the game at 1-1 on a penalty kick at the 27:10 mark. The goal is Stewart's second of the season.
No. 15-ranked Park grabbed the 2-1 lead at the 49:38 mark when senior forward Mirsad Dzilic scored his second goal of the season.
Blue Raider junior midfielder Nathaniel Jafta netted his fourth goal of the season at the 56:22 mark to tie the match at 2-2.
Lindsey Wilson junior goalkeeper Glen Fox earned his third win of the season despite allowing his first two goals of the season. Fox stopped four Pirate shots in the win.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 7 p.m. CT on Friday, September 7, as the Blue Raiders host Union (Tenn.) University in the first night of the KELME Classic at Lindsey Wilson Park.
