Box Score MOUNT BERRY, Ga. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team beat Berry (Ga.) College 3-1 today in a battle of Top-10 teams.
Lindsey Wilson sophomore midfielder Satsuki Kato scored her sixth goal of the season in the 18th minute to give the No. 2-ranked Blue Raiders (8-1) the 1-0 lead. Freshman forward Louise Christensen set up the Kato goal, which proved to be the only goal in the first half.
After the break, Christensen scored her eighth goal of the season in the 53rd minute off an assist from freshman midfielder Ida Gregersen to give Lindsey Wilson the 2-0 lead.
No. 10-ranked Berry (6-4) cut the Lindsey Wilson lead in half in the 72nd minute as Courtney Weber scored an unassisted goal to cut the lead to 2-1.
Freshman Louise Bjoerklund put the game out of reach in the 82nd minute as she converted a penalty kick to give the Blue Raiders the 3-1 lead and eventual win.
Lindsey Wilson outshot Berry 17-4, including 9-2 in shots on goal.
The Blue Raiders return to action at 3 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Oct. 7, as they travel to Campbellsville (Ky.) University.
