Box Score SPRING ARBOR, Mich. -- The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team won their season opener 4-1 on Saturday over Spring Arbor (Mich.) University.
The Blue Raiders opened the game with a quick goal in the ninth minute by freshman midfielder Ida Gregersen netted her first of two goals on the night. Sophomore midfielder Katy Gilmour set up Gregersen to give the Blue Raiders a quick 1-0 lead.
Lindsey Wilson led at the break 1-0.
Spring Arbor bounced back early into the second half. In the 48th minute, forward Katie Saylor put one in the back of the net to tie up the score at 1-1.
The game remained tied at 1-1 over the next the 30 minutes before sophomore midfielder Anne Houliston added not one, but two goals in a span of three minutes to break open the game.
Houlistons' first goal came in the 75th minute and her second goal came three minutes later to give Lindsey Wilson a 3-1 lead.
Gregersen matched Houliston with her second goal of the day in the 85th minute to give the Blue Raiders a 4-1 season-opening win.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Monday, September 1, as the Blue Raiders travel to Indiana Wesleyan (Ind.) University. The Blue Raiders host Trinity International University at 7 p.m. CT on Friday, September 5 in Lindsey Wilson's home opener.
