Box Score MONTGOMERY, W.Va. -- Only hours after being named the top team in the NAIA, the Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team proved they deserve the accolades with a 4-0 win over West Virginia University Tech.
The Blue Raiders (10-2-1) won their sixth straight overall -- their last loss came on August 29 -- and improve to a conference-best 3-0 in the MSC.
Lindsey Wilson grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute as senior Yolanda Hamilton netted her ninth goal of the season. Freshman Mia Persson added her ninth goal of the season in the 46th minute to push the lead to 2-0.
Sophomores Elisha Fry and Ida Gregersen added goals late in the game to give the Blue Raiders a 4-0 lead and eventually the win.
The Blue Raiders return to action at 4 p.m. CT on Thursday, Oct. 15, as Lindsey Wilson travels to University of Rio Grande (Ohio).
