COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Freshman Lebogang Moloto was unstoppable, racking up three goals for his first career hat trick, as the third ranked Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team tallied a 10-0 win against St. Catharine (Ky.) College on Monday at Walter. S. Reuling Stadium.
While Moloto provided the fireworks a pair of seniors, Joe Adams and Shaun Francis, made it a special night as they each scored a goal in their final regular-season home game as Blue Raiders.
Adams was put in position for his goal late in the game after a foul inside the box in the 89th minute. The Somerset, Ky., native attempted the resulting penalty kick and shot the ball into the back of the net past Patriot junior keeper William Johnston.
Francis put both seniors in action on the board in the 45th minute with a goal as the first half was winding down. Francis' goal was unassisted as he dribbled into the box by himself before crossing a shot into the right side of the net.
Moloto started his high-scoring performance in the 11th minute with the first goal of the game. The freshman followed that score with a pair of back-to-back second-half goals in the 66th and 71st minutes.
Lindsey Wilson outshot the Patriots 20-3 with 16 of their attempts being on goal compared to none for St. Catharine.
Lindsey Wilson junior keeper Pedro Caetano completed the shutout without having to make a save, while Johnston didn't get a break, making six saves and allowing 10 goals.
