Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- A pair of second half goals propelled the Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team to 2-0 win over visiting Spring Arbor (Mich.) University on Saturday at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
Lindsey Wilson senior midfielder Lorna Heaton broke a scoreless tie in the 55th minute with a goal from deep inside the penalty box.
Heaton capitalized with the first goal of the season after Spring Arbor reserve goalkeeper Flo Atar was knocked off her line by one of her teammates. Heaton tapped the ball into the back of the net to give the No. 3-ranked Blue Raiders (1-0-0) a 1-0 lead.
Lindsey Wilson sophomore midfielder Ida Gregersen scored a rebound goal in the 71st minute to give the Blue Raiders the 2-0 lead.
Spring Arbor starting goalkeeper Christina Riske -- who replaced an injured Atar in the second half -- stopped a shot from point blank range from Lindsey Wilson freshman Patricia Nielsen, but Gregersen pounded the rebound into the net to send the Blue Raiders to a 2-0 win.
Lindsey Wilson outshot Spring Arbor (0-1-0) 10-5, including a 7-0 shots on goal advantage.
Blue Raider senior goalkeeper Carrie Revlett picked up her 29th career shutout to tie Debbie McGuinness for the program's all-time lead.
