Box Score PULASKI, Tenn. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team ended regular season play today with a 1-0 loss at No. 5-ranked Martin Methodist College.
No. 9-ranked Lindsey Wilson falls to 12-6 on the season, while Martin Methodist improves to 10-3-3.
Martin Methodist's Mor Efraim scored the game's only goal in the 54th minute to help the RedHawks secure the win.
Efraim scored into an empty-net after Lindsey Wilson junior goalkeeper Jordan Morrison was knocked to the ground while boxing Daniel Sofer's cross. Efraim collected the ball and hit the back of the net for the eventual game-winner.
Lindsey Wilson and Martin Methodist each concluded the game with nine shots. The Blue Raiders managed four shots on target, but Martin Methodist goalkeeper Hanit Schwarz stopped each would-be goal. The RedHawks ended the game with two shots on-goal.
Morrison finished with one save in just over 72 minutes of action. LWC's Reiko Yoshida finished the final 17:56 and added the team's second save of the game.
The Blue Raiders return to action on Saturday, Nov. 6, as they begin postseason play in the Mid-South Conference Tournament quarterfinals. Lindsey Wilson faces the winner of No. 8-seed West Virginia University Tech and No. 9-seed Pikeville College at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. Kickoff for the match will be announced later this week.
