GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's golf team finished third today at the Bluegrass Spring Classic hosted by Georgetown (Ky.) College at Cherry Blossom Golf Club.
The Blue Raiders shot a team-total 596 (289-307) to finish 10 strokes off the pace of winner Wright State (Ohio) University's 586 (289-297). University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) finished second with a 590 (288-302).
Lindsey Wilson freshman Antonio Arriola and junior Joe Hood earned all-tournament honors for their play over the par 72, 6,838 course.
Arriola finished tied for fifth overall with a two-day total 147 (71-76) while Hood finished tied for seventh with a 148 (71-77).
Sophomore Nicolas Navarro finished tied for 11th with a 150 (70-80), junior Trey Wilkerson tied for 17th with a 154 (77-77) and sophomore Levi Gordon tied for 24th with a 157 (80-77) to round out the Blue Raider quintet.
A trio of Blue Raiders played as individuals in the tournament. Freshman Ryne Burnett finished 13th with a 151 (74-77), sophomore Derek Murphy tied for 15th with 153 (75-78) and freshman Daron Morris tied for 30th with a 164 (86-78).
Cumberlands' Aaron Watkins won the tournament with a three-under par 141 (69-72) and joined Arriola, Hood, Wright State's Charlie Doll and Matthew Crace, Cumberlands' Pierre Carlsson and Georgetown's Christian Heavens and Drew Hockensmith on the all-tournament team.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on April 12-13 as the Blue Raiders travel to the NAIA Classic at the Brickyard in Indianapolis, Ind.
