Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- With the fifth ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team locked in a 0-0 tie with Campbellsville (Ky.) University at halftime, sophomore Mia Persson must have grown tired of the dormant offense as she erupted for a hat trick in the final 45 minutes to give the Blue Raiders a 3-0 win on Tuesday at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
After winning last season's matchup with the Lady Tigers 12-0, Lindsey Wilson may not have expected to wait until the 63rd minute of the game to take a 1-0 lead.
After Persson tucked the game-winner into the back of the net unassisted, she continued to score on Campbellsville with help from her teammates over the last 27 minutes of the game.
The sophomore struck again in the 74th minute off an assist from Caitlin Burke, followed by an 85th-minute goal off a dish from newcomer Elizabet Madjarac.
Lindsey Wilson outshot Campbellsville 20-3, while also holding the advantage in corner-kick chances 9-1.
Campbellsville racked up eight saves, while Lindsey Wilson's Jordan Morrison was forced to make just one save. Brandie Hagerman collected all eight saves for the Lady Tigers.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 7 p.m. CT on Friday, Sept. 17 against Concordia (Ore.) University in the KELME Classic hosted by the Blue Raiders at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
