AVE MARIA, Fla. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team remained perfect on the season with a 4-0 win tonight over host Ava Maria (Fla.) University.

Lindsey Wilson freshmen Carl Pettersson and Phillip Sandgren each scored a goal and assisted on another to help the No. 2-ranked Blue Raiders win their ninth straight match.

Sandgren notched his team-leading eighth goal of the season off a Mat Luak assist in the 17th minute to give the Blue Raiders the 1-0 lead. Pettersson added a second Lindsey Wilson goal in the 42nd minute off Sandgren's assist for a 2-0 lead.

The goal is the first of Pettersson's career.

The Blue Raiders led the match 2-0 at the break.

While youth was served in the opening half, the Blue Raider veterans grabbed center stage in the second frame.

Lindsey Wilson seniors Moses Aduny and Chris Williams added goals after the break to help the Blue Raiders notch their second most goals in a game this season.

Aduny pushed the Lindsey Wilson lead to 3-0 in the 72nd minute off a Pettersson assist. Williams finished the scoring three minutes later off Musa Mawanda's assist to give the Blue Raiders the 4-0 win.

Freshman goalkeeper Yuta Nomura recorded his sixth shutout of the season stopping the only shot on-goal he faced during the match.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday, Oct. 16, as the Blue Raiders host West Virginia University Tech at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
