Men's Soccer Completes Perfect Regular Season with 1-0 Win at Martin Methodist

PULASKI, Tenn. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team completed its first perfect regular season since 1998 tonight with a 1-0 win over host Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College.

No. 1-ranked Lindsey Wilson ends the 2011 regular season with a 15-0 record and now sets its sights on the postseason -- which begins on Saturday at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

This season's Blue Raiders match the 1998 team who not only finished perfect in the regular season but also became the only team in the program's history to finish the season without a loss (25-0) en route to the NAIA championship.

Tonight, junior Lebogang Moloto scored his sixth goal of the season and his third game-winner in 2011 to lift the Blue Raiders to the win. Moloto scored in the game's 57th minute after being turned away by Martin Methodist goalkeeper Stephen Lunney twice during the match.

Freshman goalkeeper Yuta Nomura and the Blue Raider backline made the goal hold up as the RedHawks (9-5-2) managed just five shots on the night and just one on target. Nomura records his 10th shutout of the season with the one save.

Top-seeded Lindsey Wilson -- the Mid-South Conference regular season champions -- opens the 2011 postseason on Saturday, Nov. 5 as the Blue Raiders host No. 8-seed University of Pikeville in the MSC Tournament's quarterfinals. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
