CLEVELAND, Tenn. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's golf team climbed three spots on the final day of the Lee (Tenn.) University Spring Invitational to finish eighth in its spring opener at the Cleveland Country Club.

The Blue Raiders shaved 17 strokes off its second day team-total to complete the two-day event with a 627 (322-305) on the 6,632-yard, par-72 Cleveland layout.

University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) captured the team title with a 586 (295-291) in the 10-team field. Shorter (Ga.) University finished second in the tournament with a total of 590 (298-292).

Lindsey Wilson sophomore Antonio Arriola provided the best showing for a Blue Raider. Arriola finished with a 153 (79-74) to end the event in a tie for 16th in the 66-man field.

Junior Nicolas Navarro shot one stroke more today than did Arriola to finish one stroke back of his teammate and in a tie for 20th place with a 154 (79-75. Sophomore Daron Morris moved up six spots to a tie for 29th following his second round 77 to finish with a total of 157 (80-77).

Senior Joe Hood finished 47th with a 164 (85-79) and junior Chris Lewis tied for 49th with a 167 (84-85). Sophomore Hayes Moore -- playing as an individual -- ended in 55th overall following his 178 (95-83).

Shorter's Arvid Bengtsson led wire-to-wire to capture the individual title with a 137 (67-70).
