Men's Soccer Avoids Upset with 2-1 win at Bryan

DAYTON, Tenn. -- For the first time this season, the Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team had to battle from behind. But, battle they did to beat No. 19-ranked and host Bryan (Tenn.) College 2-1 to improve to 6-0 on the season.

No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson dominated the play tonight -- as the Blue Raiders out-shot the hosts 25-2 for the match -- but found itself down for the first time this season following a goal by Bryan's Pierce Kiembi in the 22nd minute.

The goal would be the only shot on target the entire night for Bryan (4-4) against Lindsey Wilson goalkeeper Yuta Nomura.

As the first half neared its end, Lindsey Wilson's Lebogang Moloto tied the game at 1-1 on a Mat Luak assist in the game's 42nd minute.

Once the Blue Raiders got the equalizer, an upset appeared unlikely.

In the second half, Lindsey Wilson finished with a 13-0 shots advantage, including 5-0 in shots on target.

The Lindsey Wilson offense finally broke through Bryan goalkeeper Mark Price's defense with a goal in the 77th minute to take a 2-1 lead. Moloto was once again in on the score as he assisted Moses Aduny for the game-winner.

Price ended the night with seven saves in the loss.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 1 as the Blue Raiders travel to No. 3-ranked University of Rio Grande.
