ROME, Ga. – The Lindsey Wilson College men's golf fired a team-total 297 today to finish fifth at the Chick-fil-A Collegiate hosted by Berry (Ga.) College.
The Blue Raiders moved up three spots to earn the top-5 finish in the 25-team field. Lindsey Wilson shot 598 (301-297) over the two days at Stonebridge Golf Club and Coosa Country Club.
In today's round for the Blue Raiders -- played at Coosa -- Nathan Clark shot a team-best 1-over par 73 while Daron Morris and Nathan Hincks each shot 2-over par 74s to lead the Blue Raiders.
Morris earned a top-10 finish with his two-day total of 1-over par 145 (71-74). He ended in a tie for seventh -- four shots behind University of the Cumberlands' Alastair Tidcombe, Coastal Georgia's Hunter Cornelius and Marian University's Mac Fiely who all tied with 3-under par 141s.
Tidcombe captured the individual title by winning the playoff.
Clark moved up 20 spots on the leaderboard in today's second round to end in a tie for 29th with a 150 (77-73). Hincks finished one stroke behind Clark in a tie for 36th with a 151 (77-74).
Chris Butler (81-76) and Jonathan Grabara (76-81) each completed play with 157s and a tie for 70th.
Coastal Georgia came from seven strokes back of first-round leader Cumberlands to win the team championship by one stroke. Coastal Georgia ended with a 578 (298-280).
Lindsey Wilson returns to action next week at the St. Catharine College Invitational at Bardstown Country Club at Maywood. The two-day tournament begins on Monday, Oct. 15 and concludes on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
