Ronoh Runner-Up at NAIA Championships, Earns All-American

VANCOUVER, Wash. -- For a second straight year, Lindsey Wilson College's Sharon Ronoh has earned NAIA All-American honors. Ronoh narrowly missed the big prize today at the 2012 NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site.

Ronoh finished second overall in the 320-woman field crossing the finish line in 17 minutes and 20 seconds. College of Idaho's Hillary Holt was the lone runner faster than Ronoh on Saturday. She claims the NAIA individual national title with a time of 17 minutes over the 5,000-meter course.

With the national runner-up finish, Ronoh completes an incredible career, including being a two-time All-American and a two-time Mid-South Conference Runner of the Year.

Lindsey Wilson freshman Sophie Tonneau finished 78th overall in her first national championship race. She crossed the line in 19:13.

The Blue Raider pair earned their tickets to today's race based on their finish at the conference meet. For Ronoh, it was her third national championship race and her best finish.

British Columbia won the team title with a score of 98 points followed by Idaho with 112 points.
