GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- Six NAIA national A standards and one B standard highlighted the second day of the Brenau (Ga.) University Invitational for the Lindsey Wilson College men's swimming team on Saturday.
Jonathan Hindman posted three A standards while Cory Hall produced two A standards. Logan Wetzel added an A and a B cut to the day as the Blue Raiders departed Gainesville with nine national standards over the weekend.
Lindsey Wilson used the outstanding individual efforts to produce 303 team points -- good enough for fifth place.
Hindman qualified for nationals in the 200 yard freestyle following today's time of one minute and 46.31 seconds. The time was more than two seconds under the NAIA's necessary time to qualify.
Hindman was just getting started.
He added A standards in 100 and 200 yard breaststroke. Hindman just did miss breaking the one minute barrier in the 100 breast with a time of 1:00.14 in a third-place finish. He added a runner-up finish in the 200 breast with a time of 2:09.32.
Hall -- who posted a national B standard in the 200 IM yesterday -- grabbed two A standards in the 100 and 200 fly. He ended the 100 fly in 53.30 seconds and the 200 fly in 1:56.71. For his efforts, Hall earned a third pace and second place respectively.
Weszel swam the grueling 1,650 free to a national A standard and a second place finish in the event. His 16:58.77 earned the Blue Raiders 17 points towards their team total. In the 400 IM, Wetzel added a B national standard after touching the wall in 4:29.37.
Limestone College won the men's team event with 892 points followed by Asbury University with 762 points.
The Blue Raiders return to action on Saturday, Dec. 1 as they travel to the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg.
