Box Score

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Ashley Rainey muscled her way to 18 points and 12 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to slow down a potent Campbellsville (Ky.) attack, as the Tigers beat Lindsey Wilson College 89-49 on Tuesday at the Powell Athletic Center.

Emily Meeks backed Rainey up with nine points and Jasmine Brimm finished with eight points and four rebounds. Sarah Collins added four points and five rebounds.

The Tigers took control of the game from the get go, storming out to a 13-2 lead over the first five minutes. Brimm tallied the Blue Raider' first points to tie the score at 2-2, but Chelsea Craig's jumper in the paint ended an 11-0 run for Campbellsville.

Rainey got Lindsey Wilson as close as it would get the rest of the game at 16-8, scoring two of her team-high six first-half points. But The Tigers never stopped building their lead, jumping ahead 30-12 on Daizah Kimberland's layup off a turnover with 11 minutes left in the half.

Clifton's 3-pointer at the one-minute mark of the half gave Campbellsville its largest lead of 34 points at 54-20.

At the break, Lindsey Wilson had turned the ball over 13 times without an assist. Campbellsville, on the other hand, dished out 16 assists with just four turnovers. The Blue Raiders did get to the free-throw line 11 times, but made only four of the shots.

Clifton started the next half right where she left off, knocking down another three just 15 seconds in. The senior finished with a game-high 28 points as Campbellsville didn't give away any of its lead the rest of the way.

Overall it was a better half for Lindsey Wilson, only being outscored 35-27, but the damage was already done as the Tigers improved to 3-0 in Mid-South Conference play.

Campbellsville blistered the nets, shooting 52.0 percent from the field and hitting 11 3-pointers at 45.8 percent. The Blue Raiders struggled from beyond the arc, making just 1-of-9 shots, but shot 43.2 percent from the field.

Lindsey Wilson's woes continued at the free-throw line where it hit just 10-of-26 tries from the stripe.

The Blue Raiders are back in action at 5 p.m. CT on Nov. 29 at sixth-ranked Georgetown (Ky.) College.
