GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team built as much as a 17-point first-half lead, but could not hang on for the upset over sixth-ranked Georgetown College in a 69-62 loss tonight at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.

The No. 17-ranked Blue Raiders (4-2, 2-2 in the Mid-South Conference) started red-hot en route to building the 31-14 lead. Lindsey Wilson shot 59.1 percent (13-of-22) from the field in the game's first 12 minutes on its way to the 17-point cushion.

Georgetown began its comeback in the first half's final eight minutes with a 16-4 run to trail 35-30 at the break.

After the quick start, the Blue Raiders finished hitting just one of their 16 shots to close the half.

After the break, Kasey Litzinger hit an opening-half 3-pointer to extend the lead to eight, but that would be the Blue Raiders' largest lead of the half. Litzinger finished with 11 points, including hitting three 3-pointers.

Georgetown again methodically chipped away at the Blue Raider lead and finally tied the game at 43-43 on a pair of Devon Golden free throws with 13:21 left. Golden narrowly missed a double-double ending with nine points and nine rebounds in the win.

Lindsey Wilson's Ashley Rainey gave the Blue Raiders back the lead 31 seconds later with two of her game-high 20 points. It was the final lead of the game for Lindsey Wilson.

Rainey added a career-high 21 rebounds to record her sixth double-double of the season in six games. The 21 rebounds is the second highest total in the NAIA this season behind Harris-Stowe State's Shanique Buford's 22 earlier this month.

The two teams exchanged baskets over the next four minutes eventually tying the game at 51-51 with 9:39 left in regulation. It was the sixth and final tie of the game.

Georgetown scored eight of the next 10 points to take a 59-53 lead and eventually led by as many as eight (67-59) on its way to the seven-point win.

Despite the early stellar shooting, the Blue Raiders managed to make just 33.8 percent (25-of-74) of the shots in the game. Lindsey Wilson shot 30.6 percent (11-of-36) from the field in the second half.

Georgetown was only slightly better at 38.7 percent (24-of-62) for the game.

Four Tigers scored in double figures led by Lindsay Fultz's 17 points on 8-for-12 shooting. Lizza Jonas added 15 points and 11 rebounds while Kourtney Tyra and Andrea Howard each chipped in 12 points.

Jasmine Brimm joined Rainey and Litzinger in double figures with 15 points.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, Dec. 1 as the Blue Raiders travel to St. Catharine (Ky.) College.
