ORANGE BEACH, Ala. -- A pair of second-half goals propelled the Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Spring Arbor (Mich.) University today and into the NAIA National Championship match on Saturday at the Orange Beach Sportsplex.

Lindsey Wilson's Mia Persson and Elizabet Madjarac each scored to help the Blue Raiders reach the title game for the fourth time in the program's history and the first since 2006. Lindsey Wilson owns the 2004 and 2006 NAIA titles.

The second-seeded Blue Raiders (19-4-1) face No. 12-seed Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) University at 5 p.m. CT on Saturday. Olivet Nazarene advanced into the finals after disposing of top-seeded and four-time defending national champions Lee (Tenn.) University 4-1 in penalty kicks after a 1-1 scoreless tie in the first national semifinal.

In tonight's nightcap, sixth-seeded Spring Arbor did something no other team has been able to do in the national tournament -- score a goal against the Blue Raider defense.

Karly Linton found the back of the net in the 23rd minute to give the Cougars (20-3-2) the early 1-0 lead. The goal was Linton's second of the national tournament and 20th of the season.

With the exception of the scoreboard, the first 45 minutes were equally played.

Each team managed eight shots in the first half while the Blue Raiders posted a 3-2 corner kick advantage.

Spring Arbor goalkeeper Sarah Yancer held the Blue Raiders scoreless -- the first time any goalkeeper has shutout Lindsey Wilson in the first half at this year's national tournament -- with four saves. Yancer finished with eight saves for the match.

The second half was anything but equal.

The Blue Raiders flexed their muscles after the break to the tune of a 16-2 shot advantage over the Cougars, including 7-1 in shots on-goal.

It appeared, as Yancer racked up the saves, that it simply was not the Blue Raiders' night. That is until the 68th minute when Persson blasted a ball past Yancer off a Madjarac assist to tie the game at 1-1.

The goal is Persson's fifth of the tournament and 31st of the season. The Blue Raiders' all-time leading scorer (72 career goals) has scored at least one goal in eight straight games and in 18 of her last 19 matches.

Lindsey Wilson continued to apply pressure and finally broke the 1-1 tie in the 80th minute when Madjarac struck for the eventual game-winner.

Saeda Sueki set up Madjarac's eight goal of the season by dribbling to the end line down the right flank. Sueki played a diagonal pass to just inside the 18-yard box and Madjarac one-timed it past a diving Yancer for the 2-1 lead.

Each team would have one additional chance to score in the final 10 minutes of the match.

Persson sent a ball down the middle that Yancer handled easily for her final save of the night.

Spring Arbor's final chance came off a free kick from 25 yards out in the final minute following a Lindsey Wilson foul. However, Ashley DeNio's kick sailed high securing the 2-1 Lindsey Wilson win.

Thanks to the dominant second half, the Blue Raiders out-shot the Cougars 24-10 for the match, including 11-2 in shots on-goal.

Lindsey Wilson goalkeeper Josephine Frigge's scoreless streak ended at 322 minutes as she allowed one goal. Frigge collected one save en route to her 18th win of the season between the pipes.

The Blue Raiders improve to 3-3-1 all-time in the national semifinals with the win. Lindsey Wilson is 2-1 all-time in the finals.

Saturday's Lindsey Wilson-Olivet Nazarene will be the first meeting between the two programs.

Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT
