Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. – Four players reached double figures for Lindsey Wilson College as the Blue Raiders used a 19-4 run halfway through the second half to top Wilberforce (Ohio) 82-66 on Saturday at Biggers Sports Center. Ashley Rainey led all players with 24 points and 12 rebounds.
Jasmine Brimm also eclipsed the 20-point mark for Lindsey Wilson (7-4) with 21, while Sarah Collins (12) and Sarah Gillis (11) also reached double figures.
The Bulldogs (3-13) were led by Danisha Brown with 15 points and three 3-pointers and Kendra Moss with 13 points and four rebounds.
Neither team shot the ball extremely well with Lindsey Wilson leading the way from the field at 44.4 percent, compared to 39.4 percent for Wilberforce.
After starting the game without making a three in the first half, Lindsey Wilson ended up shooting 2-for-5 from behind the arc in the second. Both teams shot 75.0 percent from the free-throw line as Lindsey Wilson made 19-of-26 attempts in the second half.
The Blue Raiders won the battle on the backboards, outrebounding the Bulldogs 42-39.
Lindsey Wilson trailed by as many as five and led by as many as four points in the first half before going into halftime tied at 27.
A three by Dominique Fischer with 12:49 left in the game gave Wilberforce a five-point lead before a 19-4 Blue Raider run starting at the 10:43 mark changed the complexion of the game.
What had been a back-and-forth battle for nearly 30 minutes turned into a Lindsey Wilson rout as it outscored the Bulldogs 55-39 in the half.
Lindsey Wilson's largest lead in the contest was 17 points on a layup by Rainey with 3:28 left to play.
The Blue Raiders won't return to action until Dec. 17-18 for a two-game road trip to Florida where they play Warner University at 6 p.m. CT on the 17th and at Webber-International at 6 p.m. the next day.
