Box Score

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- No. 21 Campbellsville (Ky.) got by the Lindsey Wilson College defense early for a 57-42 halftime lead, withstood a second-half Blue Raider run and ultimately finished off a 98-82 win on Thursday in Biggers Sports Center.

The Tigers' Katie Allen came off the bench and quickly made it her job to find easy baskets for her teammates. The sophomore finished with 13 assists, issuing the majority to Courtney Clifton who finished with a team-high 23 points.

Ashley Rainey did all she could for the Blue Raiders, tallying a double-double of 33 points and 18 rebounds despite being slowed with foul trouble throughout the game.

Rainey made it to the free-throw line 21 times where she made 15 shots. Jasmine Brimm and Monny Niamke joined her in double figures with 16 and 15 points, respectively.

The Blue Raiders needed to hit threes to keep in the game and despite Brimm hitting four, no one else could get hot as Lindsey Wilson finished 7-of-28 from deep for 25.0 percent.

Clifton nearly outshot Lindsey Wilson (18-11, 6-9 MSC) herself, and that was just in the first half.

The junior from Lexington, Ky., caught fire and started having the offense run only through her as she hit four 3-pointers before halftime.

Five Tigers in all reached double figures, including Hayley Hellyer (18), Chelsea Craig (14), Mackenzie Lee (13) and Megan Isaacs (10) to go along with Clifton.

Campbellsville (19-10, 9-6 MSC) nearly saw all of its first-half heroics slip away as Lindsey Wilson shot out on a 24-14 run over the first 10 minutes of the second half to climb within five at 71-66.

But within a minute the Tigers had scored three straight baskets and led by double figures once again.

Lindsey Wilson got within nine on a Rainey free-throw, but would get no closer as Campbellsville rushed out to leads as high as 18 points the rest of the way.

Turnovers doomed the Blue Raiders, committing 18 with just 12 assists, while Campbellsville dished out 29 assists with just 12 turnovers.

The Tigers outshot the Blue Raiders from the field 53.8 percent to 40.3 and hit five threes for 33.3 percent. Campbellsville's bench was better as well, outscoring the Blue Raiders' 22-4.

Lindsey Wilson is back in action at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday against St. Catharine (Ky.) in Biggers Sports Center.
