Box Score CLEVELAND, Tenn. -- Lee (Tenn.) University's Marie Eliassen scored in the 95th minute to help the Lady Flames beat visiting Lindsey Wilson College 3-2 tonight at Lee Soccer Field.
The golden goal in the first overtime period enabled third-ranked Lee to turn back No. 2 Lindsey Wilson's comeback attempt at the Lady Flame Classic. The Blue Raiders fall to 2-2-1 on the season with the loss.
Lee's Leah Fortune scored a pair of goals -- one late in the first half and the other early in the second half -- to give the Lady Flames a 2-0 lead.
The Blue Raiders -- who ended the night with 11 shots compared to 13 from the host -- converted their first score of the game in the 59th minute.
Natasha Gensetter scored her first career Lindsey Wilson goal to cut the Lady Flame lead to 2-1. The Gensetter shot was one of just four on target for the Blue Raiders during the game.
Laerke Lillelund Michaelsen -- who assisted on the Blue Raiders' first goal -- also hit the target as she tied the game in the 72nd minute from inside the penalty area. The goal was Michaelsen's second of the season -- which is tied for the team lead.
Unfortunately for the Blue Raiders, the Michaelsen shot would be their last of the night.
Lee would out-shoot Lindsey Wilson 5-0 over the final 18 minutes of regulation and into the overtime en route to the win. Lee improves to 2-1 with the win.
Lindsey Wilson goalkeeper Loren Cerafice allowed three goals while collecting two saves. Lee's Leah Wilson allowed both LWC goals while stopping two shots.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 4 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept.15 as the Blue Raiders face No. 16 Vanguard (Calif.) University on the final day of the Lady Flame Classic.
