CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – One stroke separated the Lindsey Wilson College men's golf team from first place today at the Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament at the Campbellsville Country Club.
The Blue Raiders opened the day one shot shy of opening-round leader Cumberlands (Ky.) -- and that is where they ended after today's final round.
Lindsey Wilson shot a two-day total of 579 (293-286) compared to Cumberlands' 578 (292-286). Host Campbellsville (Ky.) finished third with 587 (302-285).
The title gives Cumberlands the edge in the conference regular season race, which concludes with the spring tournament in April.
A trio of Blue Raiders posted sub-par rounds today led by Nathan Clark and Jonathon Grabara's 2-under par 70s. Daron Morris posted a 1-under par 71.
Clark finished runner-up in the event with a two-round score of 140 (70-70). Clark posted an eagle and eight birdies during the two rounds en route to shooting 10th and 11th career rounds under par.
Grabara's final round proved to be an up-and-down one. He recorded an eagle, five birdies and five bogeys on the day. Grabara ended in a tie for 11th with a 145 (75-70).
Morris finished one shot off his teammate's score at 146 (75-71). Morris battled back from a bogey-double bogey close to the front nine to shoot a 2-under par 33 on the back nine to post his under par score.
Nathan Hincks tied for 17th at 148 (73-75) while Wade Cave ended in a tie for 29th at 153 (78-75) to complete the Blue Raider quintet.
Campbellsville's Trey Shirley captured the tournament's individual title with a two-day total 135 (70-65).
