Box Score ST. CATHARINE, Ky. -- Three different Blue Raiders scored today to help the Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team to a 3-0 win over host St. Catharine (Ky.).
The No. 3-ranked Blue Raiders improve to 4-2-1 overall and 1-0 in the Mid-South Conference with today's conference opening win. St. Catharine falls to 2-2-2 and 0-1 in conference play with the loss.
Despite being a one-sided affair -- Lindsey Wilson out-shot the Patriots 21-2 for the match -- goals were difficult to come by in the opening 45 minutes.
Lindsey Wilson's Mia Persson -- the reigning MSC Offensive Player of the Week -- broke the scoreless tie in the 30th minute with her third goal of the season to give the Blue Raiders the 1-0 lead.
The match remained a one-goal Lindsey Wilson advantage into the break.
Following the pause, Cecilia Ekstrand scored in the 66th minute to double the Lindsey Wilson score. Elizabet Madjarac needed less than three minutes to add the third Lindsey Wilson goal to push the lead to 3-0.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 5 p.m. CT on Wednesday as the Blue Raiders host MSC newcomer Bluefield (Va.) at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
