Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. -- In a matchup of two of the top three NAIA women's soccer teams, No. 2 Concordia (Ore.) University got the best of third-ranked Lindsey Wilson College 2-0 today at the Concordia Cavalier Cup.
The host controlled the match from beginning to end en route to securing a perfect weekend.
Concordia (4-0) beat No. 12 Hastings (Neb.) College 2-0 on Friday for its first win of the two-day event. Lindsey Wilson finished the Cup 1-1 after beating No. 4-ranked Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University 2-1 in Friday's opener.
Lindsey Wilson (1-1-1) managed just one shot during the match against the 2011 NAIA national runner-up. The Cavaliers finished with a 13-1 shot advantage for the match, including a 6-1 shots on goal advantage.
Concordia scored a goal in each half.
Alici Alarcon-Evans scored the first Cavalier goal off a McKayla Madison assist in the 29th minute for the 1-0 lead. Concordia's Ashley Ames closed the scoring in the 57th minute with an unassisted goal to secure the 2-0 win.
The loss is the Blue Raiders' fourth straight to the Cavaliers, including Lindsey Wilson's only loss last season. Lindsey Wilson's last win over Concordia came in the 2004 national championship match.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept. 8, as the Blue Raiders travel to Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind.
