COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College football committed a season-high six turnovers today in a 22-14 loss to Kentucky Christian University at Blue Raider Stadium.

The 14 points are a season-low for No. 17-ranked Lindsey Wilson who falls to 5-2 overall and 1-2 in the Mid-South Conference East Division. Kentucky Christian improves to 3-4 and 2-1 in the East.

In addition to forcing six turnovers, the Knight defense limited the Blue Raider offense to 290 total yards -- nearly 160 yards below Lindsey Wilson's season average.

Kentucky Christian grabbed a 9-0 lead at halftim thanks to Andrew Stewart's interception return for a touchdown and a Drew Slikker 37-yard field goal.

Lindsey Wilson took its only lead of the day with back-to-back third-quarter touchdowns for a 14-9 lead.

Rome Cotton found the end zone for the fifth time this season on a two-yard run for the first Blue Raider score of the day. Cotton finished with 105 rushing yards -- the seventh 100-yard rushing game in the program's history.

Tavis Elzy caught a 26-yard touchdown from Branden Cresap near the end of the third quarter for the go-ahead score. Elzy finished with three catches for 57 yards and the one touchdown -- his fifth of the season.

Cresap -- who threw for a program-record 460 yards last week -- was limited to 19-of-38 for 228 yards and three interceptions on Saturday.

The Knights answered in the fourth quarter forcing three turnovers -- two of which they turned into touchdowns.

After forcing a Lindsey Wilson fumble, Kentucky Christian drove 60 yards to regain the lead. Justin Crager scored his first touchdown of the season on a one-yard run to give the Knights the 15-14 lead. KCU's two-point try failed.

Cresap's second interception of the day set up the next Kentucky Christian touchdown with a little more than six minutes left in the game.

With a bit of fortune, Kentucky Christian's Jakarious Crittenden fumbled the ball near the goal line and teammate Marcus Hicks fell on the ball for the touchdown and a 22-14 lead.

The Knights fumbled seven times in the game but managed to recover the ball three times. Kentucky Christian ended the game with five turnovers.

Following the KCU touchdown, the Blue Raiders drove the length of the field and faced a second and goal from the Knight's six-yard line inside the final three minutes. But Cresap's pass to Chris Dobbins on a slant pattern skipped through the receiver's hands and to KCU's Jermichael Williams for the sixth Lindsey Wilson turnover of the day.

Lindsey Wilson entered the game with just nine turnovers through the first six games this season.

The Blue Raiders final chance -- a desperation heave from the KCU 48-yard line -- was knocked down to preserve the upset win.

Lindsey Wilson finished the game out-gaining the Knights 290-284.

Sam Wilson led the Blue Raider defense with nine tackles while Andrew Wahl, Michael Brooks and Dennis Oxendine each had six tackles. Wahl led the Blue Raiders with a pair of sacks and four tackles for a loss.

Mark Corbett led the Blue Raider special teams with a 52.2 punt average including a career-best 63-yard punt.

Stewart finished with 14 tackles for the Knights to go along with two interceptions.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Oct. 26 as the Blue Raiders travel to Belhaven (Miss.) University in Jackson, Miss.
