PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team defeated the University of Pikeville (Ky.) 7-0 on Sunday at the Bob Amos Soccer Complex.
Lindsey Wilson improves to 10-2-2 on the season and 6-0-1 in Mid-South Conference play.
With the loss, Pikeville falls to 4-9 on the season and 1-6 in conference play.
Lindsey Wilson outshot Pikeville 12-0 in the first half, but was unable to break the 0-0 tie until the 41st minute of the match. Renan Sarafim broke the scoring drought on an assist from Yazeed Davids for the 1-0 lead.
The Blue Raiders struck again shortly after halftime when Billal Qsiyer found the back of the net in the 53rd minute to put Lindsey Wilson up 2-0.
Xavier Baumgart scored in the 64th minute to give Lindsey Wilson a 3-0 lead. Elijah Ukpong scored the next goal in the 71st minute to push the lead to 4-0.
Tom Moody scored in the 83rd minute followed by Lwandiso Gonya with just seconds to go in the match in the 90th minute to make it 6-0. Moody also had two assists on the day.
Lindsey Wilson outshot the Bears 25-3 for the match and also held the advantage in corner kicks 10-0.
The Blue Raiders return to action as they host Georgetown (Ky.) College on Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. CT at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
