Women's Soccer defeats Shawnee State in MSC Quartefinals

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson women's soccer defeated Shawnee State (Ohio) University 6-0 in the Mid-South Conference quarterfinals on Saturday night.

The Blue Raiders (16-3-0, 8-1-0 MSC) were led by Ayaki Shinada who scored two goals and had an assist in the victory.Shinada scored her first goal in the 22nd minute to give Lindsey Wilson a 3-0 lead.

Alice Coyne got the scoring started with a pass from Renee Hurd inside the 18-yard box to an open Coyne who was able to put it into the back of the net to make it 1-0 in the eighth minute. Natasha Gensetter scored the second goal, unassisted, four minutes later to give the Blue Raiders a 2-0 lead.

Cecilia Ekstrand made it 4-0 on a pass from Shinada in the 26th minute.

Shinada then made it 5-0 on an unassisted goal in the 73rd minute. Sabrina Tom made it 6-0 47 seconds later when she took a pass from Alice Coyne down the left side and put it past a diving Emily Kuehn.

The Blue Raiders held the Bears to no shots while taking 26 of their own. Lindsey Wilson had 10 corner kicks in the game.

Johanna Henrikson started the game in net and faced no shots while Kuehn made 11 saves for the Bears.

Lindsey Wilson faces Gerogetown (Ky.) College in the MSC semifinals on Thursday, November 14th at 2:30 p.m. CT. In the other semifinal Cumberland (Tenn.) University plays St. Catharine (Ky.) College at 12 p.m. CT at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
