Box Score

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Yazeed Davids scored two goals as No. 2 Lindsey Wilson beat Marygrove (Mich.) University 5-1 on Saturday night.

The Blue Raiders (6-1-2) outshot the Mustangs 11-0 in the first half putting pressure on Marygrove's goalie Levanno Lewis. Lewis was able to make some quality saves before Davids took a Xavier Baumgart pass and put it in the back of the net to make it 1-0 in the 42nd minute.

The Mustangs (6-3) notched the equalizer in the 56th minute as Jad El-Zein got past the Lindsey Wilson defenders to square it at 1-1. That goal was the only shot Blue Raider goalkeeper Christoffer Gatara faced during the game.

The Blue Raiders retook the lead four minutes later on Davids second goal of the evening to make it 2-1.

Lindsey Wilson had 16 corner kicks, capitalizing on a Tom Moody corner that Jordan Hall was able to put into the back of the net to make it 3-1.

Lindsey Wilson continued to outshoot the Mustangs in the second half, putting eight shots on net compared to zero for Marygrove.

Moody had five of those shots on goal for the Blue Raiders. He finally was able to put one in the back of the net on a nice move to beat the defender and put it past a diving Lewis to make it 4-1.

Trae Wells scored his first goal of the season as he took a pass from the Moody and placed it past the goalkeeper to make it a 5-1 game with five minutes to play in the game.

Lindsey Wilson returns to Mid-South Conference action as they host St. Catharine College on Tuesday, October 1 at 7 p.m. CT.
