Box Score

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – The No. 1-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team fell 1-0 to No. 6 Embry-Riddle on Sunday afternoon at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Ala., site of the 2013 NAIA National Championship.

The Eagles (3-1-1) got the game-winner in the 28th minute when Martine Olsen connected on a header off a Katherine Ebbs corner kick. Embry-Riddle had the advantage in corners, 9-3.

Ayaki Shinada led the Blue Raiders (3-1) on attack with four shots, three on goal. Lindsey Wilson outshot Embry-Riddle 11-7 but could not get the better of Eagles goalkeeper Olivia Lynch, who collected six saves in the win.

Lindsey Wilson put the pressure on Lynch at the end of the first half, but shots by Shinada and Jamie Stanton were saved, while an Anna Vig attempt was high.

Embry-Riddle had four corners late in the second half, but came away empty. Lindsey Wilson's Natasha Gensetter looked for the equalizer with a late shot in the 89th minute, but again Lynch came up with the save.

The Blue Raiders host Indiana Wesleyan (Ind.) on Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. CT and Westminster College (Utah) on Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. CT as part of the Lindsey Wilson Stanno Classic.
