GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The seventh-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with Georgetown (Ky.) on Wednesday night at iHigh.com Field.

The Blue Raiders move to 8-3-3 on the season and their 5-0-1 Mid-South Conference record keeps them in second place in the MSC standings.

With the draw, Georgetown is now 6-8-1 on the year and 2-3-1 in MSC play.

The first half went by scoreless as both teams put forth solid defensive efforts. The Blue Raiders possessed the ball for the majority of the half, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Lindsey Wilson had nine shots in the opening 45 minutes of play including four on target while the Tigers had three shots, all on goal. Lyana Perez had three shots, two on goal while Bettina Brulhart had one shot on goal for Lindsey Wilson.

Karin Bernet had a scoring chance in the 36th minute, but her shot from 20 yards out sailed high just above the crossbar.

The Blue Raiders took little time after halftime to break the scoreless tie.

Amanda Kander dribbled down the right flank and crossed a high ball towards the six-yard box that sailed over Georgetown's keeper and into the net to give the Blue Raiders the 1-0 lead in the 48th minute.

The Tigers found the equalizer in the 74th minute when a cross came in from the right side from Kelsey Aerni as Blue Raider keeper Johanna Henriksson left her line in an attempt to clear. Henriksson dove forward but the ball rolled past her outstretched arms to Lindsey Dunn who put the ball into the open net for the goal.

Following the Georgetown score, the Blue Raiders applied pressure during the final 15 minutes of regulation, unleashing shot after shot, but were unable to find the go-ahead goal.

Lindsey Wilson took 15 shots in the second half with three on target. The Tigers managed just one shot on goal, but it ended up in the back of the net.

The game went into overtime and the Blue Raiders continued to apply offensive pressure, recording 10 total shots over the two overtime periods, but none were on goal as the Tiger defense turned away all game-winning goal attempts. Georgetown did not record a shot in the overtime period.

Emilia Jonsson and Elizabet Madjarac both finished with a team-high five shots each while Georgetown finished with four shots total as a team.

The Blue Raiders head to Lebanon, Tennessee, for their next game on Oct. 27, a colossal matchup with No. 1 Cumberland (Tenn.) who sits atop the Mid-South Conference standings with a 6-0-0 record. The winner of that game will be the MSC regular-season champion.
