COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Caio Da Cruz scored in the 85th minute to lift No. 9-ranked Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) to a 2-1 win over visiting Cumberland (Tenn.) tonight at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

The win gives the Blue Raiders (8-2-1, 4-0-1 in Mid-South) a two-game lead in the loss column with two games remaining in the MSC regular season.

Da Cruz's goal capped off a second half dominated by the Blue Raiders. Lindsey Wilson controlled the run of play to the tune of a 9-3 shots advantage, including 4-to-1 in shots on goal.

In addition to its shots advantage, Lindsey Wilson challenged Cumberland goalkeeper Ian Hamilton with five corner kicks after the break and nine for the match. Hamilton -- the reigning MSC Defensive Player of the Week -- finished with seven saves while allowing both Blue Raider goals.

The final corner kick of the night proved instrumental in the decisive goal.

Tom Moody delivered a perfect ball deep into a crowded penalty area. The Moody service ping-ponged around in the box and eventually found its way to Billal Qsiyer who laid it off to Da Cruz for a tap-in from inside the six-yard box.

The goal is Da Cruz's second of the season -- both game-winners.

Cumberland (6-5-1, 4-2) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute on an own goal. Cumberland's Josh Armstrong sent a dribbler from the right flank across the face of the Lindsey Wilson goal. In an effort to clear -- with pressure from Tom Reilly -- the Blue Raider defender put the ball into the LWC goal for the early Cumberland lead.

Aleksi Pahkasalo tied the game in the 25th minute off a free kick from nearly 40 yards straightaway. Following a Cumberland foul, Pahkasalo hit a howitzer into the left upper-90 for the equalizer. The goal was Pahkasalo's team-leading sixth of the season.

Dalyan Hawes picked up the win in goal for the Blue Raiders allowing the own goal while stopping the only other shot he faced in the game.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 6:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Oct. 15, as the Blue Raiders travel to Flagler (Fla.) in Saint Augustine, Florida.
