COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team defeated visiting Voorhees (S.C.) by a final score of 92-61 on Friday night at Biggers Sports Center.

Playing in the nightcap of this year's Lindsey Wilson College Classic, the Blue Raiders (5-4) scored the game's first 14 points as they hit 4-of-6 shots from the floor, including 3-of-4 three-point attempts.

The Tigers (4-4) scored their first two points on a pair of free throws by Charles Brown at the 15:38 mark to make it a 12-point deficit at 14-2.

Voorhees would not convert its first successful shot from the field until over six minutes into the first half via a Jerrod Brown three-point basket. That hoop at the 13:43 mark would be the Tigers' first after missing their opening seven shots of the night.

Following a Greg Henry basket with 11:31 on the clock, Voorhees trailed by 10 points at 19-9, but drew no closer than that to Lindsey Wilson as the Tigers faced a 17-point halftime deficit, 42-25.

In the opening half alone, the Blue Raiders' Julian Edmonson scored 19 points, including 11-consecutive Lindsey Wilson points in one stretch that included three-straight three-point baskets.

During the final half of play, the Blue Raiders shot 20-of-31 from the floor (64.5 percent) to seal the victory over Voorhees.

Lindsey Wilson converted 54.2 percent of its field-goal attempts in all (32-of-59) and finished with 22 assists as a team. The Blue Raiders also hit 12-of-22 three-point shots (54.5 percent). Conversely, the Tigers shot 35.0 percent from the field (21-of-60), including a 3-of-20 performance from three-point range (15.0 percent).

For Lindsey Wilson, Edmonson had a game-high 25 points on 8-of-11 shooting, seven of those successful shots coming from three-point range. The 25 points are his second-highest scoring output of the year, trailing only the 31 he scored against Miami-Middletown (Ohio) on Nov. 7.

D'on Hall totaled 13 points, nine rebounds and four assists, and Quentin Purtue finished with nine points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Additionally, Tony Menton had 11 points and Charles Sutton scored 10.

Jerrod Brown led Voorhees with 16 points, four assists and four steals, while Henry had 12 points and three steals. Charles Brown finished with 10 points, five rebounds and a pair of assists.

In the first game of the classic, No. 19 Campbellsville (Ky.) was able to hold off Robert Morris (Ill.), 63-60.

Campbellsville faces Voorhees tomorrow at 2 p.m. CT with the Robert Morris-Lindsey Wilson game to follow immediately after.
