COSTA MESA, Calif. – The No. 1 Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team took down No. 15 Vanguard (Calif.), 2-1, in the first game of the Blue Raiders trip to the Golden State.

Yvonne Ploeg scored twice in the second half to guide the Blue Raiders (9-0-2) to their seventh-straight win with the victory over the Lions (9-4-0).

After neither team could to find the back of the net in the first half, Ploeg got the scoring started in the 54th minute as Delfina Santellan fed her the ball at the top of the box and Ploeg blasted it into the top right corner.

Two minutes later, Ploeg recorded her second goal of the match as she collected a rebound and put in the back of the net to give the Blue Raiders a 2-0 lead in the 56th minute.

Vanguard spoiled the shutout for Johanna Henriksson as they scored off a corner kick in the 67th minute. Henriksson made six saves in the game to secure a 2-1 win for the Blue Raiders.

Lindsey Wilson continues their road trip on Wednesday night as they face No. 10 Westmont (Calif.) in Santa Barbara, Calif., at 5 p.m. CT.
