Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY. — Yvonne Ploeg and Lyana Perez each scored second-half goals, and No. 1 Lindsey Wilson women's soccer defeated No. 14 Campbellsville (Ky.) 2-0 at Finley Stadium on Tuesday.
Lindsey Wilson (10-1-2, 5-1-0 MSC) outshot Campbellsville (15-1-0, 5-1-0 MSC) 25-6, including a 16-2 shot on goal advantage.
The Lindsey Wilson offense fired 11 shots towards the Campbellsville net in the first half, but Tigers' keeper Amanda Howard made six saves and the other five shots missed their mark. The Blue Raiders also attempted eight corner kicks in the half but did not capitalize.
The Tigers only had one shot attempt in the first half, which was saved by Lindsey Wilson's keeper Johanna Henriksson.
The Blue Raiders struck quickly after halftime.
Ploeg broke the scoreless tie in the 48th minute when she found the back of the net for her 10th goal of the season. Not to be outdone by her teammate, Perez also notched her 10th goal of the season in the 57th minute.
The Lindsey Wilson defense minimized Campbellsville's chances in the second half and the offense peppered Howard with shots. The Tiger's keeper finished the game with 14 saves.
Henriksson stopped the two shots she faced in the game to record her 6th shutout of the season for the Blue Raiders.
