BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lyana Perez scored both goals as the Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team captured the 2015 Mid-South Conference Tournament Championship with a 2-0 win over Campbellsville (Ky.) on Friday evening at Lovers Lane Soccer Complex.

It marks the 14th time in program history that the Blue Raiders (16-1-2) have captured the MSC Tournament crown. No. 1-ranked Lindsey Wilson also garners the conference's automatic bid into the NAIA National Championship Tournament that begins later this month. No. 15 Campbellsville (18-2-0) must now wait to see if they receive an at-large bid into the national tournament field.

Perez scored one goal in each half to hand the Tigers their second 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Blue Raiders this season. Lindsey Wilson also topped Campbellsville Oct. 20 on the road. The loss is just the second of the year for the Tigers as the Blue Raiders improve to 21-0-0 all time against Campbellsville.

Lindsey Wilson controlled play for the majority of the first half as they possessed the ball deep in Tiger territory. Campbellsville did launch the first shot of the game in the 10th minute, but Blue Raider keeper Johanna Henriksson was there for the save.

From there, Lindsey Wilson began their attacking runs, putting pressure on the Tiger back line and goalkeeper. But as the shots continued to build, the Blue Raiders were denied from close range multiple times.

Sanna Svensson hit the crossbar on a corner kick from Isobel Dalton in the 24th minute, and after Amanda Kander saw her shot saved, Perez also sent a shot off the crossbar in the 28th minute.

The Blue Raiders finally broke the scoring drought in the 31st minute with Perez's first goal.

The ball moved from right to left across the field deep in Tiger territory. Kander dribbled in on the right before dumping the ball to Dalton near the top of the box. Dalton then slid a pass to her left to Perez, who made a beautiful turn to the outside to beat her defender and was one-on-one with Campbellsville keeper Amanda Howard. As Howard slid in towards Perez, Perez lifted her shot above the keeper into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.

The remainder of the half saw the Blue Raiders get off a few more shots, but were unable to double their lead. The Lindsey Wilson defense held strong as anytime the Tigers attempted a run into Blue Raider territory, they were quickly dispossessed and Lindsey Wilson was back on the attack.

Lindsey Wilson nearly added a second goal in the 43rd minute after a great one-touch passing display just outside the Campbellsville box, but Dalton fired right at Howard in goal for the easy save.

By halftime, Lindsey Wilson had allowed just the one shot by the Tigers while the Blue Raiders got off eight shots with three on target.

As the second half began, Lindsey Wilson picked up right where they left off with their relentless onslaught of attacks, but again the Blue Raiders struggled to finish at the end of great setups.

Shelby Austin rocketed a shot from the right-hand side to the near post but Howard was there for the save. Fabienne Rochaix dribbled the length of the field from her defensive position and even dribbled around Howard as she slid in to block the shot, but Howard did enough to disrupt Rochaix as she fired into the side netting from a few yards out from the end line.

Dalton then took her chance to rifle a shot off the crossbar as the Blue Raiders continued to come close, but were unable to find that elusive second goal.

The Tigers got their second shot of the game off in the 62nd minute after a foul awarded them a free kick just outside the box, but Henriksson was there to collect the save after the shot made it over the defensive wall.

Perez continued to take her chances and unleashed another shot that hit the crossbar, the fourth time hitting the iron for the Blue Raiders.

But despite being denied before, Perez continued to fire and was rewarded for her persistence with a goal in the 77th minute.

Austin took the ball down the left flank and delivered a ball in to Perez, who once again beat her defender on a great run, before smashing a ball into the top-right corner of the net to give Lindsey Wilson the 2-0 lead.

The Blue Raider defense allowed just one shot for the remainder of the game as Lindsey Wilson cruised to the tournament crown.

By night's end, Lindsey Wilson outshot the Tigers 20-4 with a 10-2 shot on goal advantage. Henriksson collected two saves in goal while Howard racked up eight.

The Blue Raiders now wait until Monday, Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. CT to find out their NAIA Opening Round pairing.
