COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 19-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball scored 13 unanswered points late in the game to erase an eight-point deficit en route to a 66-65 win over visiting Georgetown (Ky.) on Thursday night at Biggers Sports Center.

The Blue Raiders secured the come-from-behind win making all six of their free throws inside the final minute to improve to 20-6 overall and 8-4 in the Mid-South Conference. The Tigers fall to 12-8 and 3-6 in conference matchups.

Trailing 59-51 with 5:14 remaining in the game, Lindsey Wilson elevated its game -- especially on the defensive end -- to earn the season split with the Tigers.

The Blue Raiders held the Tigers without a point for nearly five minutes -- Georgetown missed all eight of its shots and committed three turnovers during the span. A pair of late 3-pointers by Georgetown's Ashli Mayes is all the stood between Lindsey Wilson and a shutout over the final 5:14. Mayes' final trey came as time expired to set the 66-65 final.

The Blue Raiders hit only 32.2 percent (19-of-59) of their field-goal attempts, but did convert 26-of-32 free-throw shots (81.3 percent). Additionally, Lindsey Wilson held a slim 43-42 rebounds advantage.

Lindsey Wilson claimed a five-point lead (11-6) near the 14:30 mark of the first half, and still led by a 22-21 margin with 7:15 until halftime. The Blue Raiders' advantage, however, did not hold as Georgetown closed out on a 14-3 run to assume a 35-25 halftime edge.

In the opening half, Lindsey Wilson shot 34.6 percent from the field (9-of-26), including a 0-for-6 mark from three-point range. In comparison, Georgetown converted 13-of-29 shots from the floor (.448). The Tigers held an 18-to-15 rebounding advantage.

During the second half, Georgetown moved ahead by 13 points after an Emilie Ziese scored to make it a 42-29 game near the 18-minute mark.

From there, Lindsey Wilson began its comeback march that culminated with a win that ended the Tigers' five-game winning streak over the Blue Raiders.

Chanel Roberts led the Blue Raiders with 14 points. She also had seven rebounds despite fouling out with nine minutes left. Billie Hearn had 12 points, six rebounds and two blocks.

Courtney Sandlin totaled 11 points, four rebounds and two blocks, and Bre Elder contributed eight points, seven rebounds and a pair of steals.

For Georgetown, Jessica Foster paced the team with 12 points while Mayes and Tralyn Woodard each scored 10 points. Devanny King finished with eight points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Up next for Lindsey Wilson is a Saturday game against 21st-ranked Shawnee State (Ohio) with the action set to begin at 2 p.m. CT.
